I've already expressed how wrong I think it is to ignore great spinners in favor of the ultimate unison break...

I think the World Cup rules with respect to breaks is fine if not carried too far.  That is the basis of my concern. My own order of importance is: rolling speed and style (I.E. Quality) and rolling must be done from the kit (out birds are a no no).  Second, the deeper, with control, the better.  Concerted rolling is after these things for me...

The other part of concerted performance is the emphasis on having full brothers and sisters in a kit and or half brothers and sisters.  This is good advice for flying a team that works together well, though as many have observed, unrelated birds can also make a good showing at times...

So, as long as I think there's too much emphasis on unison rolling over quality, I'm going to keep giving my 2 cents worth on the subject. -Jim Petersen (edited)

The least important quality in competition is the simultaneous break as long as that will be the fly rule.  We think the rule needs to change to "breaking together" meaning all within a "split" second.  What quality does the simultaneous requirement render to the Roller.  A team has to have leaders who everyone else follows. - unknown
